ThE PuNk TrEnD!
Okay, think about this for a bit... People started wearing converse back in the day because they were affordable. Now, Converse is bankrupt, their shoes are ever-so-fashionable, and they cost $32 a pair... but theyre still cool!! (note the sarcasm). Well, now everyone is like, if you don't have converse, your not "punk"... well that's not punk, it's trendy! So move on, find another pair of cheap shoes to wear cuz it's not all about fashion and trying to impress other people!!! be yourself, not what everyone else tells you to be!!! See, punk is the thing right now, and most people are juss following the stereotype... I need a stud belt, some converse all-stars, dickies, and a band t-shirt. One thing is, you can't turn around one day and say, I'm punk just cuz I can wear an Dead Kennedys shirt!!! anyone has the ability to do that, hell my grandma could be punk on that!!! But with punk you have to be into the music and the message, it's not about what you wear on the outside, it's about your state of mind and your ability to say f*ck you to what people tell you you should be and go against it, if that's who you are...
I am in no way, saying i'm punk. You can tell me that just by writing this, i'm calling myself punk... well first of all I don't go running around saying "i'm punk, i'm punk" cuz first off, i'm afraid that someone is gonna come down and beat my ass... and second, it's lame. I like the music, I like the state of mind. If you want to call me punk that's great for you, but I'm not limiting myself to some stupid label that says if your "fill in the blank" you can't do this or that, cuz that's just bullsh*t... if I wanna do something, I'm gonna do it... whether you like it or not!!! I AM ME AND YOU CAN'T DO SH*T ABOUT IT if you have a problem with that, you can go to hell!!!
